FAQ
GENERAL OVERVIEW
(1) What is QuikDealr?
QuikDealr is the mobile-to-mobile geolocation-based app that allows you to make deals with others by either offering what you have or requesting what you need; you make the request or join in a nearby deal, bid and counter-bid, and negotiate a deal – instantly, securely, and easily.
(2) Who can use QuikDealr?
Anyone interested and authorized to make a deal, especially in their nearby area, can participate –presently, use is limited between those with credit cards and bank accounts based in the United States.
(3) What are examples of how QuikDealr can be used?
QuikDealr can be used for buying a service or item, selling a service or item, instantly — and using its geolocation benefit, you can do it in the area (discretely, making deals with strangers who are participating, with payments made securely and instantly). Examples include exchanging spots in line at a busy coffee shop, getting (or selling) tickets to highly sought-after events, or even getting someone to do your gardening or running an errand.
(4) Why makes the geolocation feature of QuikDealr important?
Geolocation allows you to specify “how far you want to send the deal,” so you can focus in presenting deals in your geographic region (e.g. 30 feet or a few blocks, upto a few miles or even more). This deal is then visible to those searching in that area, and much more likely to result in a sensible deal.
(5) How can I use the optional keywords feature in addition to other deal info (like specifying distance, amount, etc.) when originating a deal?
Keywords can be helpful when you are targeting a specific audience (such as a rare item for sale), but may be unnecessarily limiting when you are in, for example, a coffee shop, and asking for coffee within a limited distance of 50 feet — that’s why keyword entry is optional.
(6) What social media sites are available for QuikDealr?
QuikDealr is rolling out platforms in Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
PAYMENTS
(7) How is my payment information kept secure?
PCI-compliant independent payment handling services keep your credit card and bank account company in a “vault” which is not even directly handled by QuikDealr, but communicated to a secure vault.
(8) Why does my account information need to be entered before I can engage in a transaction?
One of the most powerful aspects of QuikDealr is the speed of the transaction; as such, instant deal verification is only possible if all payment data (for both parties) has already been entered, which is why it is asked for by QuikDealr prior to participation in any deal.
(9) Is there a monetary amount limit for QuikDealr?
The payment system presently limits deals to $9,999; for larger deals, it may be possible to pay in installments, and again this needs to be determined between the two negotiating parties (independent of QuikDealr).
(10) Why do you need both a credit card and bank account information entered for QuikDealr?
QuikDealr transactions, as in typical deal transactions, involves payment of money by one party and receipt of money by another party; the credit card information allows payment, and the bank account information allows receipt of that money, for respective counter-parties in the deal.
(11) Is there a cost to using QuikDealr?
The QuikDealr app can be downloaded free, and access to the website version of QuikDealr is free. Transaction fees are only charged to the paying party in the deal (not the recipient); this fee is presently set at 9% transaction fee plus applicable tax, but may be subject to change in the future.
(12) Can QuikDealr be used everywhere in the United States? What about internationally?
Yes and No – yes, deal can be done in the United States and internationally, but must involve U.S.-based financial data for the parties (e.g. credit card and bank account information).
(13) What if I have suggestions for improvement for QuikDealr?
We’d love to receive suggestions — the simplest way to communicate this to us is via the “Contact Us” form on our site.
(14) Is there a way to recover funds, services, or items for a “bad transaction”?
As noted above, because QuikDealr is a platform, it is not responsible for the actual deals themselves; however, if a deal has been completed with proper data entered and this can be verified, actual function of QuikDealr can be evaluated with both parties to determine a solution.
TRANSACTION ISSUES
(15) What if the counter-party of my deal does not provide the service or item that we are supposed to exchange?
QuikDealr is a platform that facilitates deals — ultimately, as in any non-mobile deal as well, trust must exist between the two parties to complete the deal; that said, app users should take all possible precautions to ensure that measures are taken to carefully ensure the deal will properly occur. Since QuikDealr provides a way to connect the deal parties (but itself is not a party, nor can it vouch for the credibility of either party). QuikDealr is not responsible for any issues related to the actual deal being carried out properly in terms of trustworthiness of individual parties.
(16) Why can I not complete a deal in public chat, and have to enter private chat to complete a deal?
You cannot complete a deal from the “Public Deal Chat” mobile screen, because if many different bidders are involved, the identity of the final two deal-making parties could remain unclear. To avoid this and allow further, one-on-one negotiation towards a final deal, the deal originator can pick a user (by clicking on that user’s chat bubble) and entering a one-on-one Private Deal Chat, where “Accept Deal” becomes an option for both parties (with verification).
(17) What are ways that I search deals in “View Ongoing Deals”, and how is this different than “View Completed Deals”?
Among thousands of ongoing deals, a good way to narrow down the deals is to (1) use the filter option to locate deals within a certain distance away; next, (2) use the sort (simply click on a column heading once for ascending sort, and again for descending sort; and (3) via entering a keyword under the “Search Keywords” bar on top to narrow down the results further by looking for specified text within the already-filtered results; “View Completed Deals” only allows for viewing details of your completed deals, so you can view details such as the counterparty to the deal (and his/her rating given by others) along with details of the time, date, amount, name, and other deal aspects.
(18) What if I am in the middle of a deal, and it is lost before completion?
Deals can be “lost” for many reasons, and unfortunately this can be influenced by losing internet connectivity, one party in the deal withdrawing the deal or no longer being interested in responding, or a malfunction of the deal. Key precautions which will help complete a deal include maintaining a strong internet connection, responding quickly to the deal rather than waiting for an extra few seconds, and communicating clearly with the other parties regarding your intentions (so that you are more likely to enter private chat and finish a deal). Beyond this, there is a chance that a deal may be irrecoverably lost, but following the mentioned straightforward guidelines should help reduce this risk of losing a deal.
OPTIMIZING QUIKDEALR USE
(19) What should I do to set up QuikDealr properly?
The best way to be “ready to go” is to enter your account number and then visit the “View Ongoing Deals” portion, so that once you find a deal of interest, you can participate immediately (rather than having to now type in your payment information, which could cause you a delay which misses the deal).
(20) What are some advanced strategies for using QuikDealr optimally?
We’ve had some innovative use ideas for QuikDealr – some have strategized using “View Completed Deals” to find the highest likelihood of success, and others have used different sort strategies (such as by user rating, amount, distance, etc.); strategies may be different depending upon which side of the deal you wish to participate — as offering something vs. needing something, whether a deal originator or a participant, and so on… we’re always open to smart suggestions, and can even consider posting these on our site or social media fro the more innovative uses or suggestions, so that the entire QuikDealr community can continue to innovate and grow.
